FAQ

Most enquiries reduce to a small set of recurring technical questions.

01 What is hot-rolled carbon steel pipe?

Hot-rolled carbon pipe is formed by piercing a billet at elevated temperature and rolling to final dimension. It is suitable for general low / medium pressure service.

02 What is the difference between A53 Grade A and Grade B?

Grade A has lower tensile and yield strength requirements; Grade B has higher strength and is more commonly used for pressure and structural applications.

03 Can hot-rolled pipe be galvanized?

Yes. Hot-dip galvanizing to ASTM A53 is available for both welded and seamless construction. Internal galvanizing is generally not performed.

04 What is the typical length supplied?

Standard single random length 5 - 7 m, double random 11 - 13 m. Cut-to-length and exact-length supply are available.

05 What end preparations are available?

Plain end, beveled end (30°), threaded and coupled (NPT / BSP), and grooved end preparations are available.
