Galvanized structural profiles are hot-rolled carbon steel sections (I, H, channel, angle) coated with a zinc layer by hot-dip galvanizing for long-term corrosion protection.
02 What are typical applications?
Galvanized profiles are widely used for outdoor structures, transmission towers, photovoltaic mounting, bridges, walkways, marine structures and any application requiring long service life.
03 What zinc coating weights are available?
Standard hot-dip galvanized coating per ASTM A123 typically averages 85 - 100 μm (610 - 720 g/m²) for structural sections. Thicker coatings are available on request.
04 Can profiles be cut and welded after galvanizing?
Yes. Profiles can be cut and welded prior to or after galvanizing. Touch-up of cut / welded areas with zinc-rich primer is recommended.
05 What is the typical service life?
Hot-dip galvanized steel typically provides 50+ years of maintenance-free service in most atmospheric environments and 20 - 30 years in marine environments.
