FAQ

Most enquiries reduce to a small set of recurring technical questions.

01 What is bright annealed stainless pipe?

Bright annealed (BA) pipe is produced by solution annealing in a protective atmosphere, resulting in a smooth, reflective ID and OD surface without the need for subsequent pickling.

02 Is bright pipe suitable for pharmaceutical use?

Yes. BA pipe with electropolished or mechanically polished ID is widely used for pharmaceutical, food, beverage and semiconductor high-purity systems.

03 What is the difference between BA and AP finish?

BA (bright annealed) has a smooth reflective surface from in-line protective-atmosphere annealing. AP (annealed and pickled) has a dull matte grey finish from acid pickling.

04 What lengths are available?

Standard random length is 5 - 7 m. Cut-to-length and custom lengths can be supplied according to project specification.

05 Can bright pipe be supplied in metric and imperial sizes?

Yes. ASTM A312 / ASME B36.19 covers imperial NPS sizes. Metric sizes to EN 10216-5 can also be supplied on request.
