Copper-coated steel wire is a low-carbon steel wire with a thin copper coating applied by electrolytic deposition. It combines the strength of steel with the conductivity and corrosion resistance of copper.
02 What is copper-coated wire used for?
Copper-coated wire is used for grounding conductors, messenger wire, signal wire, ACSR core wire, screening, braiding and welded mesh applications.
03 What is the typical copper coating thickness?
Standard coating is typically 0.254 mm (0.010 in) corresponding to ~10% by weight. Thinner coatings are available for cost-driven applications.
04 What diameters are available?
Common diameters 0.8 - 5.0 mm. Custom diameters and special tolerances can be supplied.
05 What packaging is standard?
Coil, reel or spool form depending on diameter and end use. Wooden crate or seaworthy pallet packaging for export.
