Aluminum and aluminum-alloy drawn seamless tubes
Standard specification for drawn seamless aluminum and aluminum-alloy tubes for general purpose and pressure applications.
Aluminum Alloy — Industrial Product
6061 aluminum tubes and pipes supplied to ASTM B210 / ASTM B221 for industrial equipment, heat transfer and structural applications.
Overview
6061 Aluminum Tubes & Pipes combine a magnesium-silicon-copper 6xxx aluminum alloy with controlled seamless drawing or extrusion for reliable mechanical performance, consistent dimensional control and predictable fabrication behavior. The T6 temper delivers a balanced combination of strength, weldability, machinability and corrosion resistance, making the tube suited to industrial equipment frames, heat exchanger and condenser tubing, automotive components, structural applications and general industrial fabrication. Supplied to ASTM B210 (drawn seamless) or ASTM B221 (extruded) as applicable, with mill test certification per EN 10204 3.1, tubes and pipes are sourced to specification across a range of standard and custom outside diameters, wall thicknesses and shapes, with selected surface finishes available on request.

FAQ
Most enquiries reduce to a small set of recurring technical questions.
6061 (EN AW-6061 / AlMg1SiCu) is a magnesium-silicon-copper 6xxx aluminum alloy supplied as drawn seamless tube (ASTM B210) or extruded tube (ASTM B221). In the T6 temper it offers a balanced combination of strength, weldability, machinability and corrosion resistance.
Round is the standard shape. Square and rectangular tube are available on request. Outside diameters typically range from 6 mm to 250 mm for drawn seamless tube, with larger sizes available as extruded tube.
Drawn seamless tube (ASTM B210) is produced by cold drawing a pierced billet, giving tighter dimensional tolerance and a smoother surface finish. Extruded tube (ASTM B221) is produced by hot extrusion through a die and is typically used for larger sizes and thicker walls where tight tolerance is less critical.
Yes. 6061 tube is weldable using appropriate filler alloys (e.g. 4043 / 5356) and procedures. For pressure or fluid handling service where applicable, the relevant design code and qualification procedure must be followed.
6061 is used for industrial heat exchanger and condenser tubing where its combination of thermal conductivity, mechanical strength and corrosion resistance is suitable for the service conditions. The specific application, medium and design code must be evaluated by the project engineer.
