Nickel-chromium-molybdenum-columbium alloy pipe and tube
Standard specification for seamless nickel-chromium-molybdenum-columbium alloy pipe and tube for general corrosion-resistant and high-temperature service.
Nickel Alloy — Industrial Product
Inconel 625 nickel alloy tubes and pipes supplied to ASTM B444 / B704 / B705 for chemical processing, marine, offshore and high-temperature service.
Overview
Inconel 625 Tubes & Pipes combine a nickel-chromium matrix with molybdenum and niobium additions to deliver exceptional resistance to pitting, crevice and stress-corrosion cracking across a wide range of corrosive media. The alloy retains useful strength from cryogenic temperatures up to approximately 1000 °C and is supplied in the annealed condition for general chemical, marine and offshore service. Tubes are drawn or hot finished per ASTM B444, with welded tube and pipe supplied to ASTM B704 and ASTM B705 as applicable. The combination of corrosion resistance, weldability and thermal stability makes the product suited to chemical process piping, heat exchanger and condenser tubing, offshore flow lines, seawater piping systems and exhaust ducting in marine and power-generation service. Each delivery is supported by mill test certification per EN 10204 3.1 and full traceability of heat number and chemical analysis.

FAQ
Most enquiries reduce to a small set of recurring technical questions.
Inconel 625 (UNS N06625 / NiCr22Mo9Nb / 2.4856) is a nickel-chromium alloy strengthened by molybdenum and niobium additions. It offers exceptional resistance to pitting, crevice and stress-corrosion cracking in chloride-containing environments and is suitable for service from cryogenic temperatures up to approximately 1000 °C.
Seamless tube and pipe are supplied to ASTM B444 (seamless tube), ASTM B704 (welded tube) and ASTM B705 (welded pipe). Aerospace references include AMS 5581 / AMS 5599. EN 10216-5 and EN 10217-5 are the typical European references for pressure service.
Cold drawn seamless (B444) for tight tolerance and smoother surface, hot finished seamless for larger diameters and heavier walls, and welded and redrawn (B704 / B705) for cost-effective larger sizes where seamless is not required.
Yes. The high nickel and molybdenum content gives Inconel 625 strong resistance to chloride-induced pitting and crevice corrosion, making it a standard selection for seawater piping, offshore flow lines and marine exhaust systems where 316L stainless is not adequate.
Yes. Inconel 625 is readily weldable using GTAW, GMAW and other conventional processes with matching Inconel 625 filler (ERNiCrMo-3). Post-weld heat treatment is generally not required for the annealed condition.
Inconel 625 retains useful mechanical properties from cryogenic temperatures up to approximately 1000 °C in intermittent service and around 650 °C in continuous structural service. Above approximately 1000 °C, oxidation resistance becomes the limiting factor for long-term exposure.
